States around the country are once again implementing new regulations towards their land-based casinos. It now appears that Michigan is taking some drastic measures. New reports claim all of the commercial casinos in Michigan will be shutting down for three weeks beginning on Wednesday. It’s tough news for the casinos in this state. Lawmakers The first were in Arizona, where Gila River Hotels and Casinos closed three properties after a security guard died of COVID, and Desert Diamond Casinos also closed one site. On the other side of the country, the Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh, which had reopened June 9, was closed again on July 3 by order of county officials. So, will Atlantic City Casinos close again? As the COVID-19 global pandemic rages on, shutdowns to prevent the spread have turned a once lively boardwalk into a ghost town. After closing their doors in the spring, casinos in Atlantic City have been open since the summer, when they were allowed to reopen. However, there is trepidation that whatever momentum they’ve rebuilt over the last few months to try and get customers back could be in jeopardy. Casinos in Pennsylvania are once again closing due to the rapid rise of COVID-19 cases. All PA casinos will be closed from Dec. 12. until Jan. 4, and possibly longer.
